Role: Financial Controller
Salary: up to £45,000 DOE
Location: Nottingham, Office based
Type: Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller / Finance Manager to join our clients dynamic team based in Nottingham. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support our business objectives. This role requires a strong understanding of financial management and accounting software (xero) as well as excellent analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the preparation of financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Implement and maintain effective financial controls and procedures.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Liaise with external auditors during audits and ensure all necessary documentation is provided.
  • Utilise accounting software such as Xero to streamline financial processes.
  • Running payroll each month for 35 FTE
  • Actively pursue overdue payments and manage cancelled direct debits, employing strategies to recover outstanding debts while maintaining professional client relationships.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller or Finance Manager in a similar role within finance management.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Xero) is required.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

My client offer a competitive package for the right candidate including a basic salary of up to 45k depending on experience.

Hours are Monday to Friday (flexibility can be offered on working hours) working 38 hours per week.
